We broke a streak this year. Didn't get to go down to the Fall Festival. Tonight: concert #1 at Indiana Wesleyan with friends from church.

Tomorrow: Aiden has basketball camp, then we're taking the kids to Mamaw and Papaw's house.  Going to the Louvre exhibit at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, then concert #2 at Anderson University.

Sunday: Preach, lunch, pick up kids from Mamaw and Papaw's.

I remember the first time I went to a festival down in Tennessee.  Because the Fall Festival is such a huge event and one of the largest street festivals in the nation (or is it the largest??), I grew up with delusions of grandeur.  I thought all festivals were supposed to be like that.  You know - nonprofit organizations selling amazing foods like ( Read more... )

After a weekend of fried macaroni, S'mores on a stick, meatballs on a stick, pronto pups, sausage burgers, passing by the brain sandwich booth (no takers with us this time), carrying the kids on my shoulders for what seemed like miles, and two whole parades, this year's Fall Festival experience has sadly come to an end ( Read more... )

The Fall Festival is this week. We're making the pilgrimage up to Evansville on Friday so we can join in the festivities. So many things to choose. So little time.

Let's see - what do I want to eat tonight? Brain sandwich? Chocolate covered crickets? Pronto Pups? What about BBQ alligator jerkey? Shark fajitas? There's always a sausage burger.

For dessert, I think I'll try the fried cookie dough, caramel apples and a monster ear.
